Fleeting light with a lasting experience
Around August, the light begins to shift. It whispers that winter is not far behind.
The sunlight grows warmer, softer, more watery and quickly fades. But in its brief splendor, it bursts into the golden hour.
It sings, it dances, and it reminds us that beauty may be fleeting, yet something solid remains: the essence of its presence, and the promise that it will return. Always.
That’s how this collection began.
The golden hours have always inspired me. They light up every leaf and every blade of grass, just for a moment and then they travel on. I wanted to capture these golden moments in a way that reminds us to pause, to notice, and to experience what is fleeting but ever present.
It began as an experiment with gold leaf. A messy business in the process,
but such a wonderful dimension once it’s on the canvas.
In the end, I only left small parts showing once I began painting.
Just enough to let the light dance as it does in these beautiful golden hours.
One of my greatest inspirations: autumn light.
The end of summer, the beginning of autumn, it’s a season to slow down and turn inward. And that, I think, is the essence of golden hour: a gentle reminder to pause and look within.
